He expelled the warmest air from his mouth. He looked straight ahead, and he could see further than any other man in that crowded hallway... Every locker slam. Every laugh. Every last damn squeak of every last damn shoe on the linoleum floor; Each sound, each tone resonated inside his head; his head now made a church bell.
This was a church bell, however, that drove him neither towards a congregation, nor a religious service of any kind. A ringing that only fueled the fire, so to speak, driving him down
